Because of the world pandemic we are living, the Office for the Basque Community Abroad advocated the celebration of a virtual edition of the Basque Diaspora Day in 2020. In this way it was possible to celebrate on September 8 the third edition of this important day for the different Basque Communities abroad.
Sessions of dances, banquets, live music, Basque sports exhibitions and many other events were performed in the context of the Basque Diaspora Day. The Basque Clubs, Basque Communities and Basque people in general living abroad recorded those celebrations and now a summary of them has been collected in a beautiful video that is already on the social networks.
The Director for the Basque Community Abroad Gorka Álvarez Aranburu has presented the video to the General Secretary of Foreign Action Marian Elorza. In the image above you can find the video of the Basque Clubs with their celebrations of the Basque Diaspora Day and attached to this news the one of the presentation, that shows Gorka Álvarez Aranburu explaining to Marian Elorza how the Basque Diaspora Day video was made.
Both Marian and Gorka would like to thank, from the bottom of their hearts, all the people who have collaborated in the making of the Basque Diaspora Day video, belonging to the Basque communities, other communities and the Basque Clubs of Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, the USA, Chile, Colombia, Spain, France, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela (55 Basque Clubs from 12 countries).
The names of all these Basque Clubs and communities are included in the video credits. To all of them, our most sincere thanks.
